Ferrugio Design + Associates is an architecture and interior design studio creating highly personal residences for clients who expect more than a beautiful house. For over two decades, the firm has designed one-of-a-kind homes defined by strong architectural ideas, carefully considered interiors, and a complete understanding of how a property should be experienced.

Founded in Beverly Hills and now expanding its presence across the East Coast, Ferrugio brings a distinctly tailored approach to every commission. Architecture, interiors, furnishings, lighting, and the broader master plan are developed together — allowing each residence to feel singular, cohesive, and deeply connected to its setting.

Charleston was a natural next chapter. Its architectural heritage, waterfront landscapes, craftsmanship, and evolving design culture offer a rare opportunity to create homes that are both rooted in place and forward-looking. The firm’s work here is not about importing a California aesthetic. It is about understanding Charleston’s character, then interpreting it through a contemporary and highly refined point of view.

At 528 Wampler Drive, Ferrugio led the property’s master planning, architectural concept, spatial design, and interiors. The residence was conceived around its relationship to the harbor — from the arrival sequence and principal view corridors to the rooftop terraces, garden spaces, private suites, and the transition between interior and exterior living.

Ferrugio collaborated with Foxterra Design Group on the development of the exterior architecture and assembled a regional team of architects, engineers, consultants, and builders to advance the design through permitting and construction.

The result is a new waterfront American estate shaped by Charleston, designed for the way its owners will live today, and intended to endure for generations.
